Your pet feels unwell. Start with a call.

For non-life-threatening concerns, call to confirm today’s openings. We are appointment-only, not an emergency hospital.

Need an emergency hospital?

Difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, most pets hit by a car, or straining with no urine produced need an emergency hospital. Do not wait for an appointment here or a callback.

Concerns we can assess

Same-day attention for problems that should not wait for a routine appointment but are not life-threatening emergencies:

  • Vomiting or diarrhoea that has persisted
  • Limping or a sudden inability to bear weight
  • Ear and eye discomfort
  • Skin problems, hot spots, allergic reactions
  • Wounds that are not bleeding severely
  • Urinary discomfort — but a pet straining with no urine produced is an emergency, and males block more often than females

Urgent care questions

Can I walk in?

Please call first. We are appointment-only, and same-day appointments are usually available. A quick call lets us confirm an opening and tell you whether we are the right place before you drive.

What should I bring?

Your pet on a leash or in a carrier, any medications they take, and anything they may have eaten or chewed (the packaging or a photo of it). If you are a new client, bring any previous vet records you have.

What happens when we arrive?

A veterinarian examines your pet and talks you through what they find. If tests or treatment are recommended, we give you an estimate before we start.

How much does it cost?

The urgent care exam is $74.02. Tests, medication and treatment are separate, and we give you an estimate at the exam. See payment options.

What if you are closed or it is an emergency?

Difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, most pets hit by a car, and a pet straining with no urine produced need an emergency hospital. Go straight there. Our emergency hospitals page lists nearby hospitals with phone numbers and directions.

Do you see cats as well as dogs?

Yes. We see dogs and cats.

Let’s find the right next step.
