About Dr. Phil
Dr. Phil Good’s journey into veterinary medicine began with a unique foundation. He graduated with a degree in chemical engineering from Georgia Tech before pursuing his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Georgia. Dr. Phil finally came to his senses, realizing he’d much rather work with animals than in a chemical plant. Dr. Phil obtained his doctorate in veterinary medicine from UGA in 2011. He started working with his father, Dr. Michael Good, at Town & Country Veterinary Clinic – now known as Beyond Pets Animal Hospital!
While at UGA, Dr. Phil held numerous leadership positions, which sparked his interest in ownership and management in the veterinary field.
Professionally, Dr. Phil thrives on tackling complex internal medicine cases, performing abdominal and thoracic ultrasounds, and excelling in oral and soft tissue surgeries. His expertise and dedication to veterinary medicine ensure that every pet receives the highest standard of care.
Dr. Phil rebranded Town & Country Veterinary Clinic to Beyond Pets Animal Hospital in 2022 to reflect our core values and mission better. The new name symbolizes our commitment to recognizing pets as beloved family members and our dedication to exceeding expectations in their treatment. Additionally, our practice encompasses a vital animal rescue mission through the Homeless Pets Foundation, which we house within our facility. Dr. Phil prioritizes client education, providing detailed discharge instructions to empower pet owners with the knowledge they need to manage their pets’ health effectively.
The main reasons for the name change are:
- We view pets as family members.
- We strive to exceed (and go beyond) expectations in treating their pets.
- Our animal rescue mission (through the Homeless Pets Foundation).
- We emphasize client education, with detailed discharge instructions to help clients manage their pets.
Dr. Phil’s commitment to veterinary excellence and client education continues to make a positive impact in the Marietta community, fulfilling the legacy of his father while forging a path of innovation and compassion in animal care.
Dr. Phil lives in Atlanta with his wife, three children, three dogs, and two cats. It’s quite the circus!
